Goal Statement
This activity aims to improve learners’ knowledge, confidence, and competence in delivering timely diagnosis and longitudinal management for individuals with systemic mastocytosis (SM), across indolent and advanced subtypes.

Target Audience
This educational activity is intended for hematologists, nurse practitioners, physician associates, nurses, pharmacists, and HCPs who may clinically encounter and care for individuals with systemic mastocytosis.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:

  • Apply current diagnostic recommendations for SM to clinical practice, including ICC/WHO classification criteria, bone marrow evaluation, KIT mutation testing, serum tryptase, and immunophenotyping
  • Differentiate indolent vs advanced SM subtypes, clinical manifestations across organ systems, disease burden, and risk stratification approaches
  • Select appropriate therapies for SM patients by analyzing efficacy and safety evidence for symptomatic management, cytoreductive agents, KIT-targeted therapies, and emerging investigational approaches, considering disease subtype, patient needs, and preferences
  • Implement multidisciplinary, patient-centered management strategies including anaphylaxis prevention, shared decision-making, monitoring workflows, and care coordination across specialties
