This educational activity aims to improve oncology nurses’ knowledge, confidence, and competence in supporting patients with HER2-positive gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma or biliary tract cancer who are receiving HER2-targeted agents.

This activity is intended for oncology nurses and other healthcare professionals who care for patients with gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma or biliary tract cancer.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Summarize the relevance of recent, practice‑changing clinical evidence on HER2‑targeted therapies for patients with HER2‑positive GEA and BTC to current nursing practice

  • Implement evidence‑based strategies for assessing, preventing, and managing toxicities associated with HER2‑targeted therapies used in the treatment of HER2‑positive GEA and BTC

  • Employ effective communication techniques and patient‑education tools to counsel patients with HER2‑positive GEA and BTC on the benefits, risks, and expectations of HER2‑targeted treatment, and to facilitate coordinated care within the multidisciplinary team
