Goal Statement
This activity aims to improve learners’ knowledge, confidence, and competence in applying evidence-based, patient-centered care across early-stage and metastatic HER2-positive and HER2-expressing breast cancer by deepening understanding of evolving ADC evidence, optimizing treatment selection and sequencing, enhancing cross-disciplinary approaches to monitoring and supportive care, and improving the accuracy and application of HER2 testing.

Target Audience
This activity is intended for oncologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, physician associates, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who care for patients with breast cancer.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this event, participants should be able to:

  • Apply current evidence and guideline principles to select and sequence HER2-directed therapies across early-stage and metastatic breast cancer
  • Interpret evolving data on HER2-directed ADCs and integrate key findings into individualized treatment planning for patients with HER2-positive and HER2-expressing disease
  • Improve accuracy in ordering, interpreting, and communicating HER2 IHC and ISH results, including differentiation of HER2-positive, HER2-low, and HER2-ultralow categories, and determine when repeat testing is clinically appropriate
  • Identify early indicators of treatment-related events associated with HER2-directed therapies and coordinate multidisciplinary approaches to monitoring, evaluation, and supportive care
  • Incorporate real-world considerations such as CNS involvement, comorbidities, treatment tolerability, and patient preferences into evidence-based therapeutic decision-making
  • Recognize appropriate candidates for clinical trials and employ patient-centered communication strategies to support equitable access to emerging therapies
