CME/CE Info

Goal Statement
This activity aims to improve learners’ knowledge, confidence, and competence in delivering evidence-based, multidisciplinary care for patients with breast cancer brain metastases, with a focus on appropriately integrating emerging CNS-relevant systemic therapy data, coordinating treatment with radiation and other local interventions, and preserving neurologic function, cognitive outcomes, and quality of life.

Target Audience
This educational activity is intended for neuro-oncologists, oncologists, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals involved in the care of individuals with breast cancer brain metastases.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Apply intracranial efficacy and safety data from clinical trials of antibody-drug conjugates and other CNS-active systemic therapies to select and sequence treatment for patients with breast cancer brain metastases

  • Develop multidisciplinary treatment plans that coordinate systemic therapy with stereotactic radiosurgery, whole-brain radiotherapy, surgery, and supportive care to optimize CNS control while minimizing neurocognitive toxicity and avoidable treatment delays

  • Determine the appropriate use of brain MRI to evaluate suspected brain metastases, assess CNS progression, and distinguish disease progression from treatment-related changes and other neurologic complications

  • Recall ongoing and emerging clinical trials evaluating novel ADC-based and other CNS-directed treatment strategies, and counsel appropriate patients with breast cancer regarding clinical trial participation
