PsA & Obesity: A Patient-Centered AI Simulation for Comprehensive Rheumatology Care

Obesity is a clinically significant comorbidity in psoriatic arthritis, contributing to persistent inflammation, reduced biologic response, and increased cardiometabolic risk. Learners will explore how the bidirectional relationship between PsA and obesity shapes disease activity and practice integrating respectful, patient‑centered conversations and evidence‑based metabolic management into comprehensive PsA care.

Target Audience

This educational activity is intended for a primary target audience of rheumatologists, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and other healthcare professionals, such as a secondary audience of primary care practitioners and obesity specialists, who are involved in the care of patients with psoriatic arthritis and obesity.

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this activity is to improve learners’ competence and confidence integrating obesity management into comprehensive care plans for patients with psoriatic arthritis.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Apply patient-centered communication strategies to effectively engage patients in discussions about weight and metabolic health as part of comprehensive PsA management
