Target Audience

This educational program is intended for psychiatrists, geriatricians, neurologists, nurse practitioners, physician associates, general and family practice physicians, long-term care pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals who treat patients or advise HCP care teams regarding their patients with tardive dyskinesia who may benefit from this education. Target audiences for specific satellite symposia are adjusted as appropriate for each conference.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify patients with mood disorders at elevated risk for tardive dyskinesia based on psychiatric history, antipsychotic exposure, and longitudinal symptom patterns

  • Use validated movement-disorder assessment tools (eg, AIMS) to detect and differentiate abnormal involuntary movements within complex psychiatric presentations

  • Integrate structured TD screening and monitoring into psychiatric workflows across outpatient, inpatient, and community mental health settings

  • Develop individualized TD management strategies, including appropriate use of FDA-approved VMAT2 inhibitors, that account for psychiatric comorbidities, treatment adherence, and patient-centered goals
