Target Audience

This activity aims to improve learners’ knowledge, competence, and performance at optimizing equitable treatment for patients with early breast cancer. 

Program Learning Goal

This activity is intended for oncologists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician associates, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals who care for patients with early breast cancer. This educational program is also intended to reach patients with early breast cancer and their caregivers. 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recommend the optimal neo/adjuvant treatment strategy for each patient with EBC, considering patient/disease factors, evidence, approvals, and guidelines

  • Collaborate with patients, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary team to effectively monitor and manage treatment-related toxicities experienced by patients with EBC

  • Apply shared decision-making and communication strategies to support patient adherence and persistence on neo/adjuvant treatment for EBC

  • Evaluate strategies to mitigate disparities in guideline-concordant care, access to novel therapies and clinical trials, and supportive care in patients who are racial/ethnic minorities, older, and/or with comorbidities

  • Appraise the clinical implications of emerging evidence for neo/adjuvant treatments leveraging antibody–drug conjugates, immunotherapies, and other novel agents under investigation in EBC
