Advancing Ovarian Cancer Therapy: Emerging ADCs Targeting Cadherin-6

Clinical Thought

CDH6-directed therapy is rapidly evolving from a translational concept toward potential clinical relevance as emerging data from clinical trials of CDH6-targeted antibody–drug conjugates become available. To integrate new advances, healthcare professionals must be prepared to interpret the data, understand biomarker strategies, and anticipate how new agents may be included in existing treatment paradigms. This short commentary will equip them with the clinical insight, decision-making skills, and confidence needed to improve outcomes for patients with ovarian cancer by learning about the advances of CDH6-targeted agents.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, physician associates, and other global healthcare professionals who care for patients with ovarian cancer.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Interpret the biologic rationale for targeting CDH6 in ovarian cancer, including overexpression and oncogenic role

  • Analyze the mechanism of action and structural design of next-generation CDH6-targeted antibody–drug conjugates

  • Appraise emerging clinical evidence regarding the efficacy and safety of CDH6-targeted antibody–drug conjugates in ovarian cancer

  • Formulate evidence-based strategies for biomarker-informed patient selection and sequencing of CDH6-directed ADCs in ovarian cancer

  • Apply evidence-based approaches for proactive multidisciplinary monitoring and management of adverse events associated with CDH6-directed ADCs
