With increases in vaccine hesitancy and refusal, we are at risk of eroding decades of progress in the reduction of hepatitis A and B incidence. As healthcare professionals, we are stewards of prevention, and it is our duty to prevent losing ground in hepatitis A and B prevention.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for US healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, physician associates, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, nurses, and others, involved in the care of adults in need of hepatitis A and/or B vaccination.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Incorporate knowledge of hepatitis A and B risk factors and disease burden into patient counseling

  • Apply current evidence-based hepatitis A and B vaccine recommendations to patient care

  • Formulate strategies to overcome contemporary challenges and enhance uptake of hepatitis A and B vaccines in eligible populations
