Target Audience

This activity is intended for physicians, pharmacists, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals who provide care for people living with HIV.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the impact of body habitus changes on the mental health, quality of life, and attitudes to HIV treatment among people living with HIV

  • Integrate evidence from clinical studies and patient-centered care strategies when counseling people concerned about weight gain on ART

  • Identify individuals who are appropriate candidates for pharmacologic interventions that may ameliorate obesity or visceral fat accumulation in people living with HIV
