Improving Pharmacists' Competence in Obesity Care: CPD Outcomes

PDF

Obesity is a chronic disease with rising prevalence, and pharmacists are positioned to support weight management through counseling, education, and pharmacotherapy discussions. This poster reports descriptive outcomes from a continuing professional development program in pharmacist obesity care whose design was informed by patient input collected through an asynchronous online focus group. It summarizes learner confidence in applying obesity care, the types of practice changes pharmacists planned to make, the barriers they expected to encounter, and the care priorities patients identified, along with the limitations of a retrospective, self-reported evaluation.
