Improving Management of Pediatric Obesity: Outcomes of an Interactive Educational Program for Pediatricians

PDF

Obesity affects approximately 20% of children and adolescents in the United States, but pediatric healthcare professionals (HCPs) often do not address obesity, commonly citing limited training and experience. This poster highlights observations and outcomes from a certified multiactivity educational program developed to help pediatric HCPs improve their care of their patients with obesity. Results demonstrated benefits of educational programs on pediatric obesity management, such as intent to make evidence-based practice changes, but they also demonstrated persistent need for programs that support practical aspects of care.
