Better Together: A Collaborative Approach to Boosting RSV Vaccine Uptake in Adults

Come join our session on boosting RSV vaccine uptake in adults. It will review the burden of RSV in adults, including who is at highest risk for severe disease, and summarize the latest recommendations and evidence for adult RSV vaccination. Participants will also explore practical patient-centered and team-based strategies to communicate vaccine benefits and risks, address barriers, and improve uptake across care settings.

Physician Assistants/Physician Associates: 1.00 AAPA Category 1 CME credit

Nurse Practitioners/Nurses: 0.25 hour of pharmacotherapy credit

Goal Statement
The goal of this activity is to improve learners’ knowledge and competence regarding strategies to optimize uptake of RSV vaccination in adults.

Target Audience
This activity is intended for nurse practitioners, physician associates, and other healthcare professionals practicing in primary and specialty care who are involved in the care of adults in need of RSV vaccination.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Apply patient-centered strategies to discuss RSV risk and vaccination benefits with eligible adults

  • Integrate the latest RSV vaccine recommendations into clinical practice

  • Develop team-based approaches to improve RSV vaccine uptake among all eligible patients

  • Describe the efficacy, side effect profile, and indications/contraindications for RSV vaccination in adults
