Spot the Signal: Global Radiology Training for ARIA Detection in Alzheimer’s Care 

Growing use of amyloid-targeting therapies in the care of patients with Alzheimer’s disease has increased requirements for neuroradiological safety monitoring. This interactive workshop led by US and European expert neuroradiologists provides training in recognition, scoring, and documentation of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA), with consideration of global regulatory and clinical standards.

Goal Statement
To improve the knowledge, skills, and competence, of radiology specialists in the monitoring, recognition, and diagnosis of ARIA to optimize the care of patients with AD being treated with or considered for ATTs.

Target Audience
This activity is intended for global healthcare professionals who are involved with the monitoring, recognition, and diagnosis of ARIA, including radiologists, neuroradiologists, radiology physician associates, and imaging residents. 

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Interpret ARIA-related imaging findings using validated grading scales in simulated case scenarios in alignment with current expert recommendations. 

  • Implement evidence-based MRI protocols for ARIA monitoring in patients receiving ATT.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in documenting ARIA findings using standardized reporting templates.

  • Collaborate with referring clinicians to effectively share actionable imaging insights for ARIA management.
